Some people go to Hawaii, some people go to Europe. Jim and I went to Springfield, Illinois to a circular sock knitting conference. It turned out well. The people were so friendly and helpful. I got my NZAK working finally and knit 3 scarves. Jim worked on his antique Gearhart and got it cleaned up and running. Now we have to learn how to knit socks.

This was the first stop on the yarn crawl in Springfield, Illinois.
This place was bright and airy. The staff was friendly and I came out with yarn for a shawl and some socks. Be sure to stop in if you are in the areas.
Our next stop was filled to the brim with yarn.

Just some of the walls of yarn this place has.
After the yarn crawl we went to for lunch in an excellent restaurant in an unlikely place.

The staff and owner display some of their delicious pastries.
The food is made fresh and is relatively inexpensive. I had the chicken salad croissant and a raspberry turnover. I got Jim a frosted sugar cookie for the road and a piece of gooey butter cake that was so good.
